How I lose my money in the Stock Market?
Back in 2009, I opened my online brokerage account and I was thrilled to make money in the stock market.
Have you seen the movie Wall Street? With Charlie Sheen and Michael Douglas. The movie shows how easy it is to earn money in stocks. Apart from the illegal stuff, let’s skip those for now.
I am an abid book reader. I read books that I can find about stock investing, both local and foreign.
Warren Buffet was my man. I used to write his quotes on a piece of paper and put it in my wallet. To remind me of all his wisdom and guide me in my stock investing journey.
I also watch Bloomberg TV and Fox News Business almost every day. No, I don’t have Cable TV, so I watched via the free online channels ( you know, you’re supposed to pay for it, but you can get it online for free😜 )
I also attended seminars to learn the fundamentals of stock investing.
With all the efforts I done, I thought I am ready, and convinced that I can be rich in a few months through buying and selling stocks.
I made my first buy and it was a gaming stock. I think the gaming sector will prosper here in the Philippines. This are the likes of Solaire and Resorts World who had big casinos.
I bought it for 7.00 pesos a share and after a few months rose to 14.00 pesos a share.
Wow! I can smell it, I am going to be rich.
I sold my position and earned from it. It’s that easy!
I bought few more stocks that I believe investing in, and follow my formula of buying low and selling high. I was excited and thrilled that I will make money again!
Lo and behold.
The stocks that I bought loss 25%. of its value
In a span of 4 months, it loses almost 55% of its value.
I read books. Not just one but many. Follow tips from experts that I watched online, and attended seminars. So, what can possibly go wrong? I am sure, I am doing the right thing.
I went back to the drawing board and realized I should have an investing goal. Based on the books I read and videos that I watched, I should have one.
So, what it should be? I asked myself.
Shall I have short, medium or long-term goals when it comes to buying and selling stocks?
Short term is pretty much like trading. You buy stocks using technical analysis when price moves and reach the target price you sell it.
Medium term is a mixed between long-term and short-term goals.
And, long-term goals are stocks that you buy and hold for long periods of time and gives you a good return many years from now. This is a good strategy if you wanted to invest in stocks for retirement.
I am not an expert, and I am not trying to be clever. Based on my personal experience and level of knowledge about stock investing this is how I understand and viewed investing goals.
After losing almost 55% on the stock I bought before. I am ready to do it again.
I commit myself to recovering the money that I lose. And told myself that the shortest path to achieving this is to do stock trading.
In other words, I chose the short-term goal in stock investing.
I relied on my research, intuition, and knowledge and studied about those graphs and charts that I saw in the P.S.E ( Philippine Stock Exchange ) and try to interpret it.
Made my first trade.
After a few weeks.
There goes my money again. Out of the window.
What a sad experience 😞
I stayed away from stocks for a while and ventured into other investment vehicles.
One day when I was browsing the internet on my phone I saw an ad from Pinoy Investor.
This is the article that I saw. You can click the link HERE

After browsing some of their FREE Reports I am convinced the materials are top notch and created by people who got specialized knowledge in Philippine Stocks.
That’s what lacking in me.
Even I read tons of books attends seminars and watched loads of video and join facebook groups. I won’t acquire that specialized knowledge. Unless I made myself a Full-Time Stock Investor, and devote the majority of my time and effort being good in stock investing.
In my case, it’s not possible as I got a Job and have my own online business that I manage. Also, we all got personal lives, right?
So, I decided to give it a try and subscribed as a premium member.
I remember, what Robert Kiyosaki said. If you don’t know Robert Kiyosaki try a simple google search to know who he is.
He said, “To be successful in business you need to work with people who are better than you”.
That’s me before joining Pinoy Investor. I only rely on myself and think I am better.
Pinoy Investor works with 8 Stock Brokers giving daily market outlook, stock picks and buy and sell recommendations.
That’s 8 companies doing the research and analysis for me. They said 2 heads are better than 1.
How many heads do you think are behind those 8 companies? The information that I am getting from this 8 Stock Brokers allows me to make money in the stock market.
Information is money. That Information is impossible for me to get all by myself.
The 55%stock value I lose before and the further loses I made from stock trading was nothing compared to the money I made using the information I got from Pinoy Investor.
I doubled my money in the shortest amount of time.
